Today, after several months away from blogging, I went into Colin Kelso’ vimeo channel and I found some clips about The Truth 2 video.

After watching this clip the only thing I could think about was cut my jacket’s sleeves and put my skates on.

Is snowing here at Cesura…

Arianna is starting a fire while the boiler is warming water again for a shower, we are in the border of Piacenza and everything is quite right now.

Borders are always the place to find a spot or  one of the few  indoor skateparks that italy can count since trinity was closed, and Matteo is now going the right way with architecture and beautiful places, so I just switch for a photography that is more contemplative and more on urban landscapes.

Winter is now in full effect and headwear (especially knits) should be an essential piece in everyone’s wardrobe.

I’m pretty happy to see that Valo decided to jump on the sailor-inspired lagwagon releasing a solid series of knitted beanies and with more sailing styles in the pipeline.

Last september I was in Venice, I was having a pizza during a storm sitting close to a canal under an umbrella, rethinking about happiness, smiling faces and beautiful places.

Venice is a delightful place, a wonderful maze of calle and canals all filled up with tourists.

It’s so easy getting lost in Venice that is better if you choose to deal with it and let it go, discovering every corner by surprise. But even Venice has its pattern, if you won’t to get lost you can always follow the crowd of tourists leading to Piazza San Marco.

Every year Venice hosts the Biennale, Art and Architecture, one at a year. This year was the turn of Architecture.

As you  know architects deal with beauty, utility and firmness that concur to the definition and the suggestion for happiness. Every two years The Biennale Gardens are filled with project that deal with this purpose. Vanguards, geniuses, pragmatistes, idealists all in challenge to introduce their own dreams about the definition of a constructed and proposed happiness.

Maybe happiness can solve problems, maybe solving problems helps to define happiness. Maybe Both things help.

Aldo Cibic proposes to Rethinking Happiness through the proposal of New realities for a changing lifestyles that starts from the point of “Doing unto others as you would have them doing unto you.”

Architecture is the background of the social activities, the scenery  in which the lifestyles of the users take shape and by which they can recognize themselves. The proposed scenography deals with sustainability, density and rural environments responding for the demands of a new concept of contemporary urbanity and, of course, it deals with Combi Pools.

It seems that nowadays the vocabulary of architecture extends itself to combi pools and skate plazas as an ibrid between a social aggregator and a sport facility, even the Neufert manual contains a section about skateparks design.

This means that skateboarding and rollerblading are no longer an issue in the architects way of thinking but a social resource and  we all owe an high five to Aldo and his partners in Milan.

There’s one more interesting fact about Aldo Cibic, listening to the interview by Hans-Ulrich Obrist I discovered that he is a self-taught architect and designer. He starts working  with Ettore Sottsass in Milan and then he took part in the Memphis group.

There is nothing better than ending a British week with a British breakfast at noon.

I think it’s quite obvious that our British journey around rollerblading has to focus more on breakfast, good music and Oli Short.

I beg his pardon for the lack of proper language skills to introduce such a guy, he is from London and he speaks english, he skate proper blading and he knows when to be grateful and when to spit at rollerblading.

Things goes random sometimes as are going on bladermagazine and in my life too…

Two days ago I was talking about the healty of contemporary photography with Santo, it was a nice evening, and with different perspective, we both agreed on the heart of the thing: this times are boring, estetic is over matter right now and we need another Duchamp after too many attempt of Wharol wannabe went wrong.

Rollerblading is not in a different time, and bladermagazine is born by that.

It’s time to change mind, It’s time to show the guts to “take the tennis ball”, it’s time to see opportunity to build in an empty space.

Ok.. Everyone who uses Safari knows that this is the Beatles week…

Someone suggested me this week could have been the Bloody British week for Blader Magazine but Karma gave me some strange things this time and almost everyone who knows me  should know I only listen to one song performed by the Beatles.

So… I closed my eyes, I closed my browser Safari and in a tangerine dream I reached the very brightcorner of the rollerblading psychedelia, guided by the fate of clicking on someone’s facebook link I finally found this profile from Strange Creatures.

It took me five seconds to understand that someone else out there in the rollerblading scene knows how to choose the tunes for a flick with wheels and about five minutes more to let Karma choosing for me what to listen to this evening.

And this is the strange reason why I post something from the Astronauts during the Beatles week.

Who remembers Quadrophenia ?

It’s a 1979 British film based around the 1973 rock opera of the same name by The Who. Basically the movie is about angry youth, disillusioned teenagers and huge fights on the beach of Brighton UK.

The movie it’s not only about Mods VS Rockers, Parkas VS leather jackets or Lambretta Scooters VS Motorbikes. It speaks about a generations and the issues generations have to deal with.

Speaking of United Kingdom look at what has to offer the british generation of rollerbladers nowadays, people from Brighton, such as Adam Kola, Oli Short, Jake Eley

Picking something which is a good deal in terms of functionality and hype is a really hard find.I’m really picky about bags and rucksacks and a good backpack needs to be consistent from different point of views:

1. Thougness (aka needs to be resistant)
2. Functionality (aka needs to carry all my stuff)
3. Comfort (aka needs to carry all my stuff without being a pain in the ass)
4. Wearble (aka I don’t want to be embarassed while wearing it aka go for something clean aka K.I.S.S.)

That said I was quite impressed when I stumbled upon JJ tumblr (please don’t ask me why) and I saw some raw images of the new Valo Kyler pack designed by Kyler Martz. The design is pretty simple and clean (#4 accomplished) and looks inspired by the Duluth backpacks family (#2 accomplished). Now I’m pretty curious about fabrics and comfort.

If #1 and #3 are accomplished too, it’s a deal!

Apple now own the right of Beatles so we decide that this must be the ENGLAND WEEK.

Yesterday I meet my friend Chiara who lived in London for a while in a true punk way and we moved to Cesura Lab where she now lives in a “not so different way”.

Rollerblading had a big influence from punk too in the last few years but in a too glam way.

Let’s talk about some real punks, let’s talk about Gavin Watson.
